At Ito World, we solve transportation challenges across the world by delivering real-time transit data feeds for journey planners and a platform for transit authorities & operators. Our customers include Google, Apple, Arriva, the Department for Transport and Transport for West Midlands.

The role

Following a number of recent business wins and an expansion of our project portfolio, we are looking for a Project Management professional to join our Product delivery team at Ito World.  

You will work as part of a team servicing major high profile public sector clients. You will take responsibility for overseeing the end to end service delivery, and forging strong partnerships with our clients. Your role will be to ensure their objectives are met and projects are delivered on time, to cost targets and to the appropriate quality standards.

Ito World has a flexible working culture, and this role is suitable for a remote worker.  The role requires frequent client interactions and meetings, which are currently being held remotely.  More typically there is a requirement to attend meetings at our clients’ UK-based offices and Ito’s head office in Cambridge from time to time.

What you’ll do

Reporting to the Lead Project Manager you will:

• Project manage the end to end delivery of software development and implementation projects
• Have responsibility for full project lifecycle from project initiation and planning to delivery and project closure
• Create and maintain all relevant project documentation
• Work with technical teams to define and manage project execution plans and procedures
• Implement and maintain project information systems and coordinate day-to-day project activities
• Chair and minute project meetings
• Complete regular project update and performance monitoring reports
• Communicate effectively across all internal and external (client & partner) project stakeholders
• Identify risks, issues and dependencies. Take action to mitigate them, minimising impact on delivery
• Design and proactively manage change control process, agreeing tolerance and escalation points

What you need to have

• Experience of Public Sector procurement and delivery
• Proven project management experience in a professional environment
• Solid background of project managing complex projects
• Experience managing multiple projects from inception to completion
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a proven record of establishing, building and maintaining strong, collaborative and productive relationships across teams and clients
• Proficient with project management tools (e.g. MS Project, Asana)

What you need to be

• An exceptional project manager, focused on delivery of outcomes
• Able to organise a complex workload, to prioritise, and manage rapidly changing demands and priorities

What is also desirable

• Project management certification (Prince2, PMP), desirable but not essential
• Experienced in client account management 
• Experienced in managing remote teams
• Experienced working within agile frameworks
• Knowledge and experience of working within the UK/European public transport sector
